Fall Volleyball Training in Waco, TX: Hitting Clinic, Serving Clinic & the Future Legends League

8/26/2026

Fall is shaping up to be a big season for youth volleyball in Waco and Central Texas, and Texas Legends Volleyball has three ways for local athletes to sharpen their skills — no matter their age or experience level. Whether you're looking for a beginner-friendly introduction to the sport or focused, skill-specific training for a more advanced player, here's what's coming up at Legends Sports Center in Hewitt, TX.

Hitting Clinic with Coach Gabrielle Essix — September 19Attacking is one of the most exciting — and most technical — skills in volleyball, and our Hitting Clinic is built to help Waco-area players improve theirs. Coach Gabrielle Essix will lead two sessions on September 19, so players at every stage can find the right fit:

  • Beginner/Intermediate Hitting Clinic — 10:00–11:00 AM, focused on building approach footwork, arm swing mechanics, and timing.
  • Advanced Hitting Clinic — 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, focused on refining approach timing, arm swing efficiency, and shot selection against a block.

Both sessions take place at Legends Sports Center in Hewitt and are open to club, school, and recreational players from around Central Texas looking to train outside their regular season.

Serving Clinic with Coach Penny Ripley — October 3A confident, consistent serve can change the outcome of a match — and it's often one of the most under-practiced skills in the game. On October 3, Coach Penny Ripley will lead a Beginner/Intermediate Serving Clinic from 10:30–11:30 AM at Legends Sports Center in Hewitt, covering serving technique, toss consistency, and placement in a focused, hands-on setting.

This clinic is a great fit for Waco-area volleyball players who want to build a fundamental skill that pays off in every match, no matter what level they're playing at.

The Future Legends League — A New Path for 2nd–5th Grade AthletesFor families with younger athletes, the Future Legends League is Texas Legends Volleyball's introductory program for 2nd–5th grade girls throughout Waco, Hewitt, and the surrounding Central Texas communities. Through fun, age-appropriate practices led by experienced Legends coaches, young athletes learn the fundamentals of volleyball — serving, passing, setting, and hitting — while building confidence, athleticism, and a love of the game.

The Future Legends League is designed as a natural first step toward Legends' club and travel programs, giving elementary-aged players the foundation they'll need if they choose to compete at higher levels down the road.
