SPORTS ENGINE FAQ
Merge Sports Engine Accounts Instructions
.We show that your athletes and/or family members have multiple accounts. For all members to have access to the same athlete’s account, all the accounts have to be merged into one primary parent/guardian’s account. Once this is completed, you should have access to your athlete’s team center. I have included a screenshot of the accounts we show in our back office. See below.
Please note: The athletes account should reflect the parent/guardian’s information in the section titled “Parents/Guardians” in the athlete’s profile and not the athlete's information. The athlete’s information should be under the section titled “Personal Details”.
Use this link and the steps below to merge accounts in SportsEngine. You will need all email addresses and passwords for all accounts that are linked to your athlete to complete this merge. See steps below
If your family/athlete has multiple accounts, please repeat steps 1-8 until all have been merged under one primary parent’s/guardian’s account.

ADDING A PARENT/GUARDIAN TO ACCOUNT
We have been getting requests to add an Athlete, and/or Parent/Guardian to SportsEngine accounts. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability in the back office of SportsEngine to add or change information in family accounts, but a guardian can be added to the family account by following the instructions provided below. This will require the primary account holder for the families account that houses the athlete’s profile, to login and add a “guardian” on the family account for that athlete/parent/guardian to have access to the athlete’s profile and team center for all team wide emails and information that will be sent out by the club or your team’s coach. Please see the steps below to add a family member to your accounts.
Explanations & Instructions from SportsEngine website:
DEFINING ACCOUNTS, PROFILES, AND GUARDIANS
First, you need to understand that relationship between accounts and profiles. If you're a Netflix user, you'll probably recognize the setup.
· Accounts
An account is generally created by a parent. You use an email address to create the account and it’s how you log in to SportsEngine both on the web and in the mobile app. You manage your profiles (more on that in a minute), preference settings, access your calendars, and everything else you do with SportsEngine.
· Profiles
Think of these as “people.” - Each account has its own profile (you’ll sometimes see it referred to as a “self-profile”) that has your information for when you are signing yourself up for something (as a coach, volunteer, manager, or as an athlete yourself). Accounts also create and manage profiles for each athlete/child. These profiles are used when you register a kid for your local club season or program and also are tied to teams when you get placed on a team.
· Guardians
For each profile in your account, you’re considered a “Guardian”. This relationship gives you the ability to create and receive messages for that athlete’s team, respond to RSVPs, participate in chat and anything else connected to your athlete’s team. As the Guardian, you can also connect other accounts to be guardians to your athletes. This allows multiple parents to receive messages, respond to RSVPS, and participate in chat.
Now that we have all of that established. Here are some common questions that come up and what you need to do to solve your challenges.
HOW DO I ADD GUARDIANS TO AN ATHLETE PROFILE?
You can add these in the mobile app, or on the web. You’ll just need an email address for the person you’re adding as a guardian. To do this, the primary account holder of the athlete's account that you want to add the parent/guardian to, will have to login to their account and follow the steps below. If the parent/guardian does not have a SportsEngine account set up yet, they will be prompted to do so.

Using an Android Device
Helpful tip! Athletes 13 or older can create an account and be added as a guardian to their player profile to access the app with their own credentials but still be tied to the primary account.
